Due to the decennial re‐districting required by the 2020 U.S. Census, the 9^th District for the California State Senate was redefined as the 7^th.  The new district legislative boundary is as shown in the map.

The California 7^th Senate District Includes the cities of Oakland, Alameda, Piedmont, Emeryville, Berkeley, Albany, El Cerrito, Richmond, East Richmond Heights, San Pablo, El Sobrante, Tara Hills, Pinole, Rodeo and Hercules.
